Nancy Williams - Paperwork and More Paperwork

Whilst exploring the opportunities of print in my FMP I started thinking of paper and the important role it plays in the process. If I were exploring print in such depth, I would have to also unravel the opportunities of paper! I was advised by John to get hold of Paperwork By Nancy Williams to give me a proper insight.
The book was an excellent help, some of the things which have been created with paper is just unbelievable! As well as being well illustrated with plenty of photographs, the book also had a good history section, stating where paper came from and how it became what it is today! After reading about paper making and learning that it was once seen as an art by the Japanese, I knew that I had to give this a try and attempt to make my own paper!
Although my paper didn’t turn out as successful as planned, I loved the process and it felt good getting my hands dirty. I got some brilliant photographs during the making and just had fun with it! Not everything always turns out as planned but I’m so glad that I tried it out and although not the perfect paper, I got so much out of the experience.
